Prof. Dr. Salah Ud-Din Khan

Short Bio’s:

Dr. Salah Ud-Din Khan is an Associate Professor at the Sustainable Energy Technologies Center, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He also holds the position of Fellow at the K.A.CARE Energy Research Center in Riyadh. Throughout his career, Dr. Khan has served in various academic roles, including Assistant Professor, Visiting Scientist, Researcher, and Lecturer at prestigious institutions. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and has made significant contributions to the field of nuclear reactor safety, particularly in NK/TH coupling and reactor core design. His expertise in the design and simulation of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) is well established, with his work published in highly reputed journals. His research interests have expanded to include nuclear desalination, hydrogen production, nuclear-solar hybridization, radiological protection, energy storage, and radiation shielding materials.

Dr. Khan teaches and supervises postgraduate students in nuclear and renewable energy at the SET Center. He has published over 250 research articles in prominent journals and conferences, accumulating an impact factor exceeding 1000. His work has garnered over 10,000 citations, with an h-index of 46. Notably, Dr. Khan was recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists in 2022 and 2023 by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA. In addition to authoring three books and three book chapters, he holds a patent in radiation technology, registered with the U.S., European, and Saudi patent offices.

Dr. Khan serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Sustainable Energy Engineering & Applied Sciences journal and is a guest editor for several leading journals, including Springer (Nature)SustainabilityEnergiesApplied Sciences, and Frontiers in Energy Research. He is also a reviewer for many high-impact journals and is recognized as a “potential reviewer” for Nature. His expertise has led to numerous invitations to speak at international workshops and conferences.

Dr. Nils Haneklaus

Dr. Nils Haneklaus is a senior scientist at the University for Continuing Education in Austria and best known for his work on uranium recovery from phosphates during mineral fertilizer production. Dr. Haneklaus has covered this topic for more than 10 years working on technical aspects as well as policy considerations that will ultimately allow unobjectionable uranium recovery during mineral fertilizer production. The process will enable cleaner agricultural products as well as reduced environmental impact of the nuclear fuel cycle.

Dr. Danish has more than 7 years of experience in Resources and Climate Change Economics including academia, research, and consulting. He has made remarkable achievements with more than 10 thousand (10,769) citations and a high H-index of 51 (Google Scholar). In his publications, more than 10 papers are listed in the ESI highly cited papers. He has been awarded a ‘Global Highly Cited Scientist’ top 1% global researcher by Clarivate Analytics (2021 and 2022).  Top 1% Clarivate highly cited researcher in the years 2021 & 2022. He is listed in Stanford’s Top 2% of world top scientist in Economics, Elsevier’s highly cited Chinese research in the year 2022 and 2023. Dr. Danish has been awarded the Prize of Outstanding Student Award by the Chinese

Scholarship Council in 2018 and earned place in High Talents Program in 2019. Among other awards, he earned highly cited Chinese researcher Awarded by Scopus in years 2022 and 2023 for two consecutive years. In his academic archive other awards are Honor of Excellent Teacher of GDUFS for years 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023, Honor of best research award of GDUFS for years 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Dr. Danish has published over 80 papers in well reputed peer-reviewed JCR Journals (SSCI and SCIE) including Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review, Energy Economics, Business strategy and the environment, Sustainable development, Resource Policy, Climatic Change, Telematics and Informatics, Technology in Society, Energy, Sustainable Cities, and Society, Journal of cleaner production, etc. He also served as reviewer for several journals.

Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmed

Dr. Zahoor Ahmed is an Assistant Professor at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University and Adjunct Professor at Korea University. He earned his Ph.D. from the prestigious School of Management and Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology. With a profound interest in various domains, Dr. Ahmed’s research encompasses an array of critical areas including financial development, globalization, energy economics, environmental economics, financial management, and ICT among others. He has published more than 100 articles in reputed international journals. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to academia, Dr. Ahmed was included among the Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate for 2023. He is associate editor of the journal “Politická ekonomie”, which is indexed in the Web of Science as SSCI. He has also served as a guest editor in several Web of Science indexed journals.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Majid

Short Bio’s:

Abdul Majid is Professor and Chairperson in the Physics department at the University of Gujrat, Pakistan. His research focuses on experimental and computational studies of semiconductors for electronic, optoelectronic and magnetic devices. He completed his PhD at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics in Beijing and postdoctoral research at Osaka University studying layered semiconductors using computational strategies. He has supervised numerous graduate theses and frequently publishes in reputable ISI indexed journals and books. Currently, he is working on application of novel materials in rechargeable batteries, catalysis and hydrogen storage.

Prof. Dr. Mudassir Iqbal

Prof.Iqbal secured his PhD degree from a University of Twente, The Netherlands in 2012 and completed one year post doc fellowship from university of Fribourg Switzerland. He is working in a variety of Areas like nuclear waste processing, Ionic liquids, drugs, hydrogels/biopolymers, and functional nanomaterials for applications in Energy, Environment, Biomedical and Agriculture Sector. Prof. Mudassir has published around 135 Journal publications, and several Conference proceedings. He has a cumulative impact factor of above 500 and has been cited more than 3000 times. He has supervised 5 PHDs and more than 40 MS students, and 12 PhD are a currently under his supervision. He has also secured Several grants in different research areas.

Prof. Dr. Syed Noman Danish

 Short Bio’s:

Dr. Syed belongs to Thermal Energy Research Group at KSU and has 23 years of research experience and successfully completed a number of local and international funded projects with many prestigious organizations like, US Department of Energy, European Commission, Ministry of Education KSA, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE), Saudi Electric Company (SEC), Maaden, etc. The group is collaborating with Georgia Institute of Technology, Sandia National Laboratories, DLR Germany, Bucknell University, Arizona State University. Presently he is working on various funded projects related to CSP. He is also a fellow and consultant of K.A.CARE. He has finalized researches of many undergraduate and postgraduate students with more than 100 research publications in internationally abstracted conferences and journals.

Dr. Shahab Ud-Din Khan

Dr. Shahab Ud-Din Khan is currently working as scientist in Pakistan Tokamak Plasma Research Institute (PTPRI). He is also visiting scientist in ASIPP, China. He gained few years of experience as Assistant Professor in COMSATS University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He received his PhD and MS from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chongqing University, P.R. China respectively. Dr. Khan’s professional interest refer to designing of divertor system with cooling channels, atmospheric plasma torch coating, neutron source through blanket system, designing of limiter system with cooling channels, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma techniques at atmospheric pressure, fusion-fission hybrid system, plasma image reconstruction technique for divertor and limiter region, Eddy current calculation on CS and VV, Fluid mechanics research on divertor and blanket cooling channels. He is conducting work on different conventional and spherical tokamaks such as EAST, CFETR, PST, MT-I & II, GLAST-III. His work contained in numerical scheme development, designing, simulation and experimental studies of reactor technology is well proven and published in highly reputed journals.

He is a reviewer and editor of different well know journals. He has been engaged in different projects groups during last five years such as Design optimization and Thermal hydraulic systems for PST divertor, Atmospheric Plasma torch coating for plasma facing components, Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) plasma at atmospheric pressure, Design of Compact Neutron Source (CNS) and Blanket Safety Analysis, Plasma Based Medical Waste Management, Techno-Economic analysis of energy storage technologies, Numerical and experimental study of Nuclear Reactor Desalination Systems, Eddy current calculation on Pakistan Metallic Tokamak (PMT-1). He is also doing work with different national and international collaborators such as NILOP, COMSATS, KSU, ASIPP, AJK, and PIEAS. He participates as expert in different contests and forums and provides lectures related to nuclear fusion technology and its applications in different universities/Research Centre in Pakistan and abroad.
